The type of assessment given depends on the age of the child. The assessment is performed using a number of formal and informal tools depending on the presenting information. Included in an assessment may be observations of the child, informal discussions with family and teachers, standardized assessment tests, naturalistic interactions, review of previous records, and other tools as needed.
