Cass Markovich, MS
Principal

Cass has over 35 years of experience teaching students from age birth through 21 years with a wide variety of special needs. She has worked as a special education resource teacher for students with developmental delays, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder and behavioral issues. She has also worked for 15 years as an early childhood special education teacher in the classroom and as an itinerant, consulting teacher helping to mainstream children.

Cass is responsible for our full and part time programs, working closely with our program leaders and families.  She is a “hands on” principal, actively involved in each program room getting to know the children, helping train staff, and advising families.  Cass move moved to Shanghai in 2006 to join SEC.

“My dream was to develop special education programs in China but I never had the opportunity until SEC started.  Now I’m working with our diverse staff toward our common goal of helping children reach their highest potential.  Every person working at SEC, including our parent volunteers, program leaders, program assistants, office staff, ayis, and drivers, is here to help the children succeed.  I feel very fortunate to be sharing my dream of building a quality program with so many talented individuals.”
