Assessments are the best way to get an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by a child.  During an assessment, a variety of formal and informal assessment tools are used.  An assessment helps parents and professionals understand a child’s strengths and weaknesses, gain more insight into the child’s problems, and help identify strategies.  After the assessment, the family is given a comprehensive report, including recommendations, which are reviewed with the family and/or school professionals, as appropriate.
